In a fiercely competitive landscape, the CommBank careers hub serves as the primary window into CommBank’s culture, however the hub was failing to reflect the bank’s modern brand and communicate the employee experience.

For job seekers, navigating multiple careers sites is often frustrating, Applications are time-consuming, role descriptions unclear and company culture difficult to understand before applying.

Job seekers are looking for clarity on skills fit, visibility into culture, and reassurance that the company is investing in people. They also rely heavily on job titles which vary widely across industries.
Authenticity matters. Real stories and proof points help job seekers trust what they were seeing. While value is added to platforms that help them navigate the entire hiring journey and not just apply for a role.
Leveraging our THINK-LEARN-MAKE AT SPEED philosophy and utilising our GHO CoLab strategic sprint methodology we brought together cross-functional stakeholders to generate ideas and prototype new experiences. Concepts were tested directly with job seekers, allowing us to validate assumptions and refine the design in real time.
This process produced a clear strategic framework, user-tested solutions and a practical business case, giving CommBank the confidence that the new careers platform would deliver measurable impact in attracting and converting top talent.
Once approved by wider stakeholders, GHO were engaged to complete wireframes and visual design. Ensuring to keep within CommBank design guidelines, we leveraged existing design system modules in innovative ways providing a fresh look to the Careers section.


Within two months, CommBank launched a refreshed careers experience that includes department specific pages showcasing real work and career pathways, employee stories and content to build authenticity and trust plus a career support hub offering interview guidance, CV advice and application support.
Importantly the new destination encourages job seekers to explore opportunities through their skills, interests and career stage, helping them identify where they might belong inside the organisation.
By reframing the careers page as an explorable platform for growth, belonging and impact, CommBank can now showcase the scale of opportunity inside the organisation while giving job seekers the clarity and confidence they need to apply.
