Davidson had grown well beyond its recruitment roots, expanding into strategy, talent and technology. Its brand needed to catch up.
GHO partnered with Davidson to reposition the business around a more connected proposition: bringing strategy, people and technology together to help organisations move forward with greater clarity and certainty.
From brand strategy and architecture through to identity and verbal expression, we created a unified platform that reflects the Davidson of today and gives the business room to grow.

Davidson had built significant credibility through recruitment and executive search, while progressively expanding its capabilities across strategy, performance and technology. As the business evolved, the brand no longer fully reflected the breadth of Davidson’s capabilities.
The challenge was bigger than refreshing the identity. Davidson needed a clearer strategic position, a more coherent portfolio architecture and a brand system capable of connecting its specialist capabilities while supporting future growth.
Research showed that Davidson’s clients often knew where they wanted to go, but not always how to get there.
Strategy could stall, the right people could be hard to find and technology could add complexity rather than remove it.
What clients valued was a partner who could connect these challenges, bring clarity to the path forward and stay accountable through delivery.
Davidson was already working this way.
The opportunity was to make that role more visible and ownable in the brand.
At its centre is a refined wordmark and layered icon.
The three layers represent Davidson’s core service lines working as one integrated system, expressing alignment, connection, depth and progress.
Distinct colour expressions give each service line its own identity while shared structure, typography and visual principles maintain a clear connection to Davidson. The layered idea extends through iconography and applications, creating a flexible and recognisable visual language across the brand.
A straight-talking, human and assured tone of voice completes the system, replacing category jargon and abstract promises with clarity, evidence and practical outcomes.
The new brand system brings Davidson Strategy & Performance, Davidson Executive & Talent and Davidson Technology Consulting together under a stronger Masterbrand.
Davidson’s way of working became a position the brand could own.
Research and stakeholder engagement helped define what was distinctive about Davidson: its ability to bring strategy, people and technology together to solve connected organisational challenges.
That insight shaped a clearer brand position centred on clarity, connection, certainty and accountability, and a portfolio architecture designed around how clients experience the business rather than separate internal capabilities.
The strategy then set the brief for the identity: create one recognisable Davidson, while giving each specialist offer enough distinction to communicate its own expertise and relevance.
GM Group Operations & IT, Davidson
"Refreshing the Davidson brand meant much more than creating a new visual identity. It was about bringing together three distinct service lines under one Masterbrand and creating a clearer expression of who we are today. GHO partnered with us through that process, helping build alignment across the business and creating a brand that genuinely reflects Davidson.
The response internally has been incredibly positive. Our people are proud to represent our new brand, we've received encouraging feedback from clients on the quality of our proposals, and visitors to our offices and website have commented on how modern and confident the brand feels. GHO didn't just create a new brand. They helped us create a brand our people are proud to stand behind."
